Okay, actually I know this is good, but I'm not sure exactly how good or what to measure it against. So two years back my credit was miserable. All three scores were in the mid-500s. A little background first. Before 2000 I had impecable credit. Upwards of 800. After a failed real estate income venture, the tech bubble bursting, mom coming down with Alzheimers and my sister suffering a double aneurysm, combined with two bouts of unemployment, I took the big dive. Frankly at that point I just didn't care. Finally two years ago I threw off the funk I was in, and it was a BIG one! So I got my act together, got a solid budget in place, and made my one remaining payment (mortgage) on time every time. Well, at the beginning of this year Equifax and Experian were both hovering in the 650s and TransUnion was around 670. So a few months back I got a Valero gas card ($450 limit) and two months ago an HSBC (Orchard) MC with a $300 limit. I use them sparingly and pay them off completely every month. I don't really have the time to deal with all the negative stuff myself, so I signed up with Lexington Law in February. They've got a couple of items off my report that I am aware of (more might be in the pike and I just haven't received notifaction from the bureaus yet) but I just pulled my 3 bureau report on Experian and my three scores are: Experian - 681; Equifax - 685; TransUnion - 684. So how am I doing? I'm thinking of getting a new vehicle (I really need one!). Think I'm at a point where I won't get raked over the coals? I still have some bad negatives including a repo from 2004 (paid though) and several chargeoffs and one judgement left, all paid off to collection agencies 4 or more years back. |

Congrats! I know it is so exciting to see your credit report improving. We contacted a few credit repair companies and Lexington Law and then found this site. So we decided that we could probably do exactly what they do but for free. We have made huge amounts of debt just disappear off our CR's. I know that if we do get in a position to where things arent happening like we would like them too that we will go with Lexington Law. Heather |
