Hello, Back in early 2009 I found this forum to deal with a judgement. I ended up settling in civil court with the DC because my bank account had been frozen at the time and was tying up my funds. It was settled and paid. I recently checked my credit score and the judgement is still on my record. I thought that it would come off after settling it. Will this be on my credit score for 7 years? Is there anything I can do to remove it so my credit score can improve? |

Go back to the "Public Records" forum. There is a sticky called "Guide to disputing/removing judgments." Judgments can stay on your credit report for up to 7 years, but if you dispute it properly hopefully you will have success in removing it.
