Hey.....I've only looked for a couple of minutes but I'm finding TONS of rip off reports and scams with these guys.

You should call the courts. They can look you up by your name to see if there are any judgments against you and how you were served. I don't think I would call the attys again. I'm smelling scam here.

Yeah.....
Google their names........there are a ton of reports on them doing the same thing. Freezing bank accounts. Serving bogus summons and complaints to people. Faking documents.......illegal tactics. Beware of these guys.

Trish,

Called the court today. It was a default judgment. However, it was served to a previous address of mine in December. In December, I wasn't even living there. They served it to a "John Smith", a supposed co-tenant. I am going to the court house today to get the serving paperwork to bring with me for my court case. Think that's enough grounds for dismissal?

It very well could be. Look at your state's rules of service.

See if you were served properly (probably not.....but you should check to be sure). And then look up the procedure for vacating a judgment.

You can ask the clerk's office for some assistance (forms, procedure) but do your own research too and don't take their word for everything. I learned my lesson the hard way.
