Default judgement question

So I have a judgement which I know is valid. I really am trying to get this cleared up so I was going to go thru what is posted in the deleting judgements thread. I have already sent disputes to all CRA's regarding both judgements that I have. One is pad and satisfied the other is not. I actually called the attorney that is in charge of this judgement last week to get the correct balance and address. They informed me that I actually have 2 bills with them and they just recieved another which is dated for '07, they are all hosptial bills. turns out they have had the wrong address for a couple years, I gave them the correct address. I also told them I plan on payiong the judgment off this week as its only $500. Today I recieved 2 letters from them, one regarding the judgement which is worded exactly the same as the other letter for the new bill. They are just the regular this is an attempt to collect a debt and if I want they will validate. I am wondering for my best bet on getting these deleted, should I make them validate it? Should I just pay it and hope that the courts dont verify and go about it that way as in the forum?

Hope that all makes sense.

Thanks for the help.

I am a little confused about the bills. Are they already judgments? If so, were you served properly?

If it is not yet a judgment.......then yes, ask for validation.
From what I have read.....once a debt becomes a court ordered judgment.....you have lost your chance at getting validation. There is no point in it since they have signed paperwork from the court stating you owe the debt. There's really no point in fighting it unless you weren't served properly and plan on trying to get it dismissed.

As far as the judgments being reported.........paid or unpaid.....yours or not......you dispute them the same. You can still go ahead and start the process.

The $500 one is already a judgement and yes I was served proprerly as far as I know, it was a couple years ago. The other one is just in collections and is not a judgement, they just both happen to be with the same attorney.

So the one that is not a judement I will ask for validation. I also thought I would not be able to get validation for th ejudgement thats why I was confused about the letter they sent me. I wasnt sure why they would od that type of a letter for a judgement. Maybe a mistake on thier part?

I did just want to couble check about this because they sent me that letter and I have already sent out disputes with the CRA's for the judgment.

I think that answers my questions.

Thank you!!

If you talk to the lawyer he will tell you what he wants to hear. You need to to send a dv letter for sure and find what the oc had as a balance when they sent it to collection.Sending you 2 letters was to confuse you into not acting thinking it was for something they had already got a judgement on,just a thought on my part.

Yes....if not to confuse you, then to make a solid papertrail for them to show that they gave you proof of the debt so there's no reason you shouldn't pay. That way they can enforce it (wage garnishment, threatening letters or phone calls......who knows.....attys and CAs are jerks).
