Talking Is it too late to send a valadation letter???

I am pretty new to this. My husband and I both have some CAs after us. ugh They have been trying to collect for about a year now (or longer). Is it too late to ask for valadation???

Also, there is a CA, Main Street Aquisitions, on his report. We have never received a phone call or bill from them, but it is for $3k. I'm pretty sure he owes this. But, should we leave it alone and wait on them to send a bill, call, or summons us???? Or should we go ahead with a valadatin request???? TIA!

For the ones that have been contacting you for a year, have u had any communication with them? Have u answered their calls? If so, what did u say?

As far as as whether u can still validate, the answer is that there is nothing that says u can't although they don't have to validate after the 30 days has passed. I would just proceed as if your validating within those 30 days. Afterall, they don't send their letters certified, so there is no proof u received it.

Not sure the legal terms but it does not matter of 30 days goes by since they contacted you... unless you agreed its your debt on a record phone call or in a letter or made an offer to pay etc...

that my basic understanding as a newbie who is not trolling many boards lol

Im sure some one will comment... the volume of replies seems light here.

Default Check your credit reports.

Have you even seen your credit report, and are these collection agencies on your report? Even if you know these accounts are yours, if the balances seem to high you have every right to ask for validation.
