MANY Lates on Report...

We fell on hard times this last year and we have LOTS of lates There is only one that is 120+ (BofA) and I'm going to call them and make a "deal" with them to get them paid off (it's a small amount on a card they were emailing me the statement to and I quit using that email! learned a lesson there!) Unless someone here can recommend something else!!

We decided this last summer to use a dmp and it's working ok, but since we were late on some cards going into it, they're still reporting as late until the past last balance gets up to date. I wish we had some extra $ to pay them, but we don't!

We are looking at buying a house in the next couple years (VA loan) and I may need a new car by then. If we start now paying all the debts on-time, will our score go up at all?? We will also have our debt ratio down.

I'm new to all this, and have read a lot, but it's taking awhile to absorb it all!!

I will say that prior to this last year we had PERFECT credit!! It saddens me that this has happened, but what do ya do?!

The best thing for lates are gw calls and gw letter. Beg, plead and beg some more..... be persistent. You may have to do it MANY times but hopefully you will find someone with a sympathetic ear.
