Default CA reselling debt to to other CA

Unfortunately this has happened to me. I had a CC that was sold to a Atlantic Credit in 2005. It is now being reported on my CR by Midland Credit as a reported date of 2008. The OC said they could not send me a letter stating the date of sale and such.

Also I have one debt that is reported as the same OC on my Equifax/TU report, however, it is a different CA reporting on each. How is this possible? I want to do a PFD with one that works and still have to do it with the other.

Any idea what my options are? I was banking of a SOL removal but since it was resold that is out of the options.

It seems every time I check my credit report these dates change pushing back the SOL even further. This is getting very frustrating as I thought about doing the Lexington Law Firm program to help out.

Ah.. now I see why you posted the other question.

The SOL will not change because of it being sold to another CA. It will always go off of the DOFD from the OC.
It "looks" like (check your state's SOL) it may be out of the collection SOL since the debt has to be at least 5 years old.
That possibly gives you some bargaining power for a PFD.
If there are multiple CAs reporting this same debt, dispute them all...... only one of them (if any) should stick. Then you send that one a DV. Once/If they validate the debt, then you can talk about a payment arrangement/PFD.

Trish,

Actually it must be the same company. When I got home from work today I called Trans Union and they gave me all my FCRA dates. That one is in fact from 2005 and will come off 2012. I got my Equifax and Trans Union via myfico.com and it pretty much doesn't show any of the FCRA dates or dates of removal.

I feel a lot better now that I called. My last negative item comes off 2014 and 3 come off 2011 and 2 2012. I just have to call Equifax and make sure they have the proper FCRA dates. If anything in a year or two I may try a PFD for the 2014 one but the other 5 that come off the next 2 years I am not touching and just waiting for the SOL so it's deleted.

Is there any shadiness once it is removed via SOL they try to renew it by reporting it again? I am really just worried about the shadiness of CAs. Two CAs are a result of a charge off from OCs that are on my report so those should be removed for sure. The person at Trans Union said they get removed automatically but I will check when the time comes to make sure. She also said to send in a letter and they will send me my Trans Union report which will show the FCRA dates on them so I have a record of them in writing.
