Default I think I'm ready to start...maybe

Hello all, thanks to everyone who has posted. This board is so informative...a little too informative! Ok, my credit is a mess. I owe a lot of people but not a ton of money. My accounts of been passed from ca to ca and I'm not exactly sure how to start. Here is my plan: I just got my Experian credit report online but my other two, they could not prove my identity so I sent in required info to receive the other two. I will then send a letter to dispute addresses and employers.

Here is the first question: Do I dispute old addresses? Do I just say they are outdated or simply those are incorrect? Next...what do I dispute first...I have 1 judgement from 2005 through inovision which I believe is time warner. However, the liability and asset amount is listed as "not reported" Keep in mind that this is just my Experian report.

Next I have about 15 lines that almost all state "not reported seriously past due date/ assigned to attorney...etc." Here are the questions. I'm sure most of these are legit but since the accounts have changed hands so many times I have no idea. The plan is to try to dispute everything eventually so I can sort through it and find out who's who and then pay for delete. The ca's don't have addresses listed on the Experian report. How do I find that info?

They have "dates open" that are way too recent. I have 3 or 4 accounts with 3 different ca's. With each ca each account has the same open date...How do I find out the original date? When I dispute these, would I do a blanket 1 letter dispute for each ca?
I know these are alot of questions but I would really appreciate any help. Thanks so much! Patrick

Just state that you never lived there and that the info is incorrect.

Did you see the disputing judgments thread? Were you served properly? Is the amount high or has it been paid? Just need a little more info on this one

Can you tell which ones are out of SOL? I would start with the oldest ones first... hard to tell without seeing them so if you want, you could always copy and paste them in this thread for us to look at.. just be sure to take out any personal/identifying info.

The "date open" is usually when the CA was assigned the debt. To find out the original date without contacting them, you can call up the CRA and ask them for the FCRA compliance date so that you can know when it is scheduled to fall off. You may also want to wait for your other CRs to compare......TU is usually a little more detailed and will tell you how long before the TL is due to drop off.

That's ok... I don't mind answering questions.. especially when it looks like you've been reading up.

If you can get a hard copy of your credit reports by web of from the CRA by mail from TU, EX, & EQ. I first would work on getting old address, wrong name(s), employeers off the reports the best you can. I do this online which gets deleted in one day. Write up disputes with the three CRA with the oldest TL first. I do everything at this point by certified mail so you have a paper trail. The most important thing that I have learned is SAVE EVERYTHING you send out and receive back including CRs. You may need it down the road.
