Default Credit Restoration Bureau vs. Lexington Law?

Hi There, I am very new to all this credit repair stuff. I am looking to repair my credit (since it's really in the crapper) and I looked up two companies CRB and Lexington Law. They both seem very similar so I was hoping someone out there who has tested the waters can tell me a bit more about either of them? I appreciate anyones input and advice.

Thanks in advance.

Chane has experience with LL but otherwise, this is a self help forum. You will not have much luck finding any members here that have used a CRO.

I would try to get the easy stuff off yourself if you need help post here. You could leave the hard stuff to an expert. Also because you don't get an answer right away,we sometimes have to think, you gave no info on your credit report so it's hard to advise!!!

What's a CRO? CRB is a company that appears to be like LL. I was hoping someone has used a credit repair company or a company that claims to help. I get the self help idea; however, I was under the impression forums were for asking people for advice who have been through the ringer. In terms of revealing my credit score as jjgross suggests, I prefer to keep these matters private. Let's just say it's beyond the self help point and seeking legal advice would be a smoother way to go.

It would be great if anyone out there had something to say about credit repair companies...it's not like they are cheap to do.

That's fine you want to stay private,it makes it a little harder to assist you. I know of people who have been helped, and hurt.Nothing is beyond self repair, just longer and more patience, just think of a 2 year trip.

Default Thank you

I appreciate all the advice. I will look into all this asap. It's all very new jargon so my apologies for the ignorance.

What kind of legal advice are you seeking? None of us here are attorneys and none of this is legal advice, just for the record. Lexington Law is a real law firm, but they may not specialize in what you're looking for. But, you can find out if they are right for you by calling them. They offer a free consultation. 1-800-220-0084

There are a few credit repair companies that do things right. CROs are for people who don't have time to learn this stuff. They have lots of experience and they know what works and what doesn't.

I think it's wise to learn about this stuff even if you hire a CRO. The more you educate yourself on the subject, the better off you will be. It's just too important to ignore.

I would agree with Chane. Technically speaking you can do it yourself but depending on what your issues are you may be better off having an expert do it. Doing it yourself requires a lot of time, patience, perserveance and self-training/education. If you don't have all of the above you may actually do more harm than good. Again, I don't know the difficulty of your issues but irregardless, if you don't have the time to learn this stuff you may do yourself a disservice if you attempt it without having the proper know-how. That said, this is a great forum to gain that know how.
