Default Dispute OC or CA, or both?

I'm getting ready to dispute my first item on my credit report. My question is: Should I dispute the information added by the CA or the OC?, or should I dispute both of them at once when I write the credit reporting agency?

The account in question is a credit card, and both the CA and the OC is reporting it to the CRA's.

And also, should I sign the letter, or just type my name at the bottom?

Thanks

Is the OC a charge off? Is it being reported correctly?

Yes it is a charge off, and as far as I can tell it's being reported correctly, exept for the debt now being much higher than the high balance reported by the OC.

High balance by the OC IS $320

The CA is reporting the original balance to be $594 and my past due to be $749

Not sure if this is whitin the legal amounts of interesst rate that can be charged by a CA in California. The debt is about four years old now.

Wow that is a lot of interest.....yes, I would check on that....
I think you should make sure this is out of SOL first.. you don't want to get sued/served on this right before the 4 year mark... Find the date of first delinquency (your first 30 day late month before it was charged off) and then if it is out of SOL, go ahead and dispute both.

The CO will probably be harder to get off, but you can try.

I'm having a hard time figuring out if it is out of SOL or not. The OC reports that it's due to be removed 01/2013, and the CA is reporting that it will be romoved 08/2012. I can't find any information about first delinquency though

Can you tell the month it was charged off? Usually it's 6 months prior to that.. but if you want to know for sure...then you can call up the CRA and ask them for the DOFD/FCRA compliance date. By law, they have to have that date on file.

No, not what the CA is reporting........what the OC is reporting. On one of your reports you should be able to see when it was charged off.

I found it. It says that the first date of delinguency is 06/2006. This doesn't seem right to me though. I'm sure it was earlier than that.

I guess I should wait with the dispute until june of 2010 just to be sure that it out of SOL then?
