I have an American Honda Finance account with two payments that were 30 days past due. The "Current Status" on this account shows "Pays 31-60 days". I remember the account, and my payment was probably a week or two late, at most. Should I dispute this account? What's the best way? Are these two late pays hurting my credit enough to try to get the whole line eliminated? Thanks! |

How old is the acct and how long ago were the late pays? The older those get the less damage they do scorewise.

The account was opened 09/2004 and closed 04/2006. Looks like the late pays were in Feb and Apr of 2006. Are they too old to really matter? Thanks! |

Hmm.. even though that was 3 years ago, it may still be affecting your score. I would try by disputing as never late first.. if that doesn't work, then try sending the Honda finance a gw letter.
