Question Getting Started

I have 7 medical collection accounts on my credit report. Some of them are Paid, and I paid them last year using a "conditional endorsement" (on the back of the check with a letter included). The "condition" was that they be removed completely from all tradelines, but they still remain.

My question is; do I send the Verification Letters to the Collection Agency, or the Credit Reporting Agency?

Thanks!

Have you tried disputing them? If not, I would try that first.
If ithey come back verified, contact the company that made the agreement with you and remind them of your agreement.

Trish,
Thanks for the quick reply. However, I'm confused as to whom I should send the dispute letter. The Collection Agency or Credit Reporting Agency?

Thanks!

Thanks!

I've got my letters prepared and addressed.

My credit is really bad. I am in the process of a lengthy divorce (2 years), and times have been tough. I should be settling my divorce estate in the next few months, and would like to buy a home in the near future for myself and my 3 young children. My father (Credit Rating=800+) has graciously offered to add me as an authorized user on 2 of his credit cards. He stated he will choose cards with a high limit, low balance, and lengthy history. Other than the old collection accounts (most of them are paid, but still on my CR), I only have one delinquent accout to clear up. Unfortunately, its CAP1, and I understand they're not the most pleasant to deal with. Any other suggestions or recommendations are appreciated.
