Ok, Let me make a long story short. My career is Real Estate sales. With that being said, The past few years have been..rough. Now that things have picked up, I'm financially stable again. My credit, however..ouch I have a few credit cards from 04-07 that are in the red, past 90 days..few in collections, etc. between that and the late car payments (now current) my score is easily in the High 400's. I've been trying one of those pay per month, we'll dispute and try and get things removed, which has been a joke so far. I've read about people trying the good faith letter. Here's mine Dear Capital One, I am writing to you today regarding my credit card account in which I originally opened with you in October, 2004 at which time I was a real estate sales agent. As you know, with the troubling economy and housing crash, it affected my income and my living situation. During the time period this account was established I had was very happy with the service. I was however not the ideal customer and made mistakes with my handling of the account. I should have been more responsible in paying on time and I take full responsibility. Currently, I have gotten “back on my feet” and writing to inform you that I am willing, and able to immediately pay my balance in full, including any other fee’s I may have accrued during the duration. I am not attempting to justify this breach of my user agreement, I was however hoping you might review the circumstances under which this non-payment occurred and consider removing the negative trade line associated with this account from my three credit reports with the receipt of my payment in full. I would like to STRESS that the information currently being reported IS accurate. I am not disputing anything that you are reporting, I am simply asking for a courtesy gesture of goodwill in having the credit bureaus remove this account from my report. I do recognize that this request is unique and that it may not be normal policy. Please consider that the Fair Credit Reporting Act does not demand that all accounts be reported, only that any account that is reported be reported accurately. Therefore, a company does have legal discretion and permission to remove any account it chooses from the credit report. I'm hoping that you will kindly do that in my case for this account. I’m just about to turn 26, and I’d really like to take advantage of the first time buyers tax credit that’s been extended and purchase my first home. I’ve attached all my contact info below and look forward to your response. Again, I’m looking to pay my account in full and any fee’s I’ve accrued and hope you are willing to help me out. Your kind consideration in this matter is greatly appreciated. Best Regards not much of a response to these so far either. I've read that if you send them over and over again, you get a response. I"ve also been told big foot lives in my neighbors shed..so who knows what to believe. Should I just bite the bullet, pay off the credit cards that I can easily afford to, and just take the hit and rebuild slowly..or should I try something else out? Plllleeeeeeease help Eric |
