Default Signing Letters..

Hi
I read here on the forum that one should not sign thier name when writing to a CA? Did I read this correctly? -And why is that??

What I have learned I never sign anything that I am sending out. Just my typed name. Letters to CRA for disputes, CA, DV latters, etc.
