In desperate need of help/advice. Was in business several years, but due to the economy, as well as some poor business decisions, my business has failed and I am now well over $250 K in debt. Most is primarily credit card debt, but also some late payments on mortgages and car payments. I realize it will take a long, long time to get my credit repaired and rebuilt, but need to know where and how to start. I am building myself back up financially and getting back on my feet. I have loan modifications on my mortgages (primary and rentals) and also with 2 cars(mine and my spouse). With those worked out and in tow, what about the credit cards? Roughly about $300 K in debt on those (yep $300,000.00!!!). However I am slowly bringing back in significant money so I can pay these down and eventually off. I've dealt with the roaches that work for collection agencies (calling me non-stop, calling my neighbors looking for me, claiming there would be a law suit if I don't pay or make an arrangement w/them,etc.). So what do I do? Do I call the CO'S and offer settlements or the CC companies directly?? I know a credit repair company can't help me till I have all these paid off. I just my credit repaired and built back up and my life back! Any advice greatly appreciated. |

One other thing I would tell you is spend alot of time reading on this forum.... I think the more information you can get the better you are. As an old saying with a new twist make sure you are the one witht he gun at the knife fight. The other thing I would tell you is buy a lot of stamps and envelopes and do alot of writing. Do everything through writing. Also do the OPT OUT, if they keep calling there are sample letter for the no contact C.D. letters I think they are.... GOOD Will Letters they work look up as much information on the companies as you can send them to everyone.... Mail them out wait for a reply send them agian. Shaw shank Redemption... He mailed a letter every day it took 5 years but they finally got tired of it and sent him the funds... you have 7 years maybe sometime during that time you can get them to forgive the Lates on your report. Do all the 1-2 punches that you can... Pay for Deletions those are good.. I didnt think they would work... Just did one I owed 2500.00 and paid it for 1000.00 and it was deleted... use that money coming in to pay for deletions... I forget who said it one here but they said work on one at a time... I think if you have enough folders and look at them each day you can do more than one just dont miss the dates if they are off by 30+5 days you get on top of it and let them know they have violated the law and stay on top of the Credit Agencies.... I joined this site maybe 2 months ago and I have learned more than you would believe and I am helping family members with their issues.... GOOD LUCk |
