Smile Goodwills, HIPAA, etc????

Hi, I'm new to the board. Can someone explain to me the Goodwills: what the exact intention is; how to word them; etc?
I have some items listed on my credit report and not sure where to begin. I think most of them are medical. I am trying to clean up my credit best I can. I'm willing to write letters and if these items are mine, I'm willing to PIF, not sure how to go about getting that done though and getting them removed from my credit report (this is my "free" credit report)
Here is a summary, again, I am assuming the top 3 are for medical bills:
Bus & Prof Svs:
$34; date opened 2/1/07
$68; date opened 6/1/06

Medicredit Corp:
$794; opened 9/1/05
$124; opened 6/1/05
$215; opened 3/1/05
$94; opened 11/1/03
$213; opened 4/1/03

Merchants & Prof: $510; opened 10/1/07

Verizon Wireless-$385; 3/1/05

American Bank of Texas-I had one 30-day late in July 2008. I have paid every other payment on time. My loan will be pd off by this October...any way I can try to persuade them to take that 30-day late off?

Capital Accounts-not sure what this was for but it says Paid, Current Closed. It says opened 10/1/05 and it went to "OK" in Aug 06

Citi-again, not sure what this was for but says Paid, Current Closed. Opened 11/2000 and shows "ok" starting in Jun 2004.

Which ones should I try to resolve; which ones should I leave to "drop off"; and how do I begin? Thanks for any help and advice!

Begin by reviewing this board and the beginner's section - it is full of useful information, you should find most everything you need!

Are your items listed past dues? collections? Medical it is usually best to try and resolve through the original creditor - make a payment plan, etc. and ask them the courtesy not to report to cb's or slowly pay them to delete them (pay for deletion letter). but, follow instructions on this one and search this site. Either call or send them a letter with your information and try and resolve. Also can try and state Unknown on a dispute letter to cb's. some may drop off if you're lucky.

The bank 30 day late one - it may be tough to get rid of. I've tried and the bank gave me some b/s that under the federal regulations, etc they had to report it. But, you can try and send them a good will letter explaining why you were late, that is doesn't reflect how you actually handle finances and ask as a courtesy for them to remove the items from cb's.

Everything ok, paid - seems to be ok - you'll want them on your reports!

Hope this helps some.
