Default Letter back from Equifax, inaccurate reporting

First, I got two medical collections deleted!!! Thank you to everyone who has helped me!

Second is the problem. I had a Honda, it was paid on time every month throughout the duration of the loan, no defaults no late payments, we traded it in. It is reporting as IIB, which obviously is untrue. Equifax verified my dispute. Should I now contact Honda (the loan was through them)?

Thirdly, I disputed an old CC that was being reported as IIB, which was inaccurate. They verified it BUT changed how it is reporting. It now says charge off, acct transferred or sold. Can they do this? In my Equifax letter it says "EX has verified that this item has been reported correctly." Which is a lie because they changed how it was reporting. How do I handle this?

First...... YAY! on getting 2 medical collections deleted! :2thumbsup:

Second, yes send Honda a debt verification letter. If it's reporting incorrectly then they should be able to correct it with the CRAs without too much hassle.

Ok....now the third one is weird.
How should the TL be reported? is it a derogatory acct or should it be a positive acct? How old is it?

It is derogatory and is now being reported correctly. It was not IIB but was indeed a CO. So they changed it and now it's reporting accurately.

Would it be bad if I called Honda?

Look over that TL carefully.........make sure it's reporting correctly. You can either redispute or try contacting the company to have them verify the acct. How old is it? What is the amount? Do you know if it's been sold to a CA?

You can try calling Honda..... as a matter of fact, I've had luck with calling them to straighten out the way they were reporting on a TL of mine. So it can be done.

If it is reporting incorrectly keep disputing it. While you're doing that, contact Chase with a debt verification letter. If they keep reporting it incorrectly, file complaints........or even send them an ITS if you're willing to go the distance.

Okay thanks, I may give them a call today.

The debt is four years old next month (June), the SOL in my State is three years. It is reporting as a zero balance, however, I have never rec'd any correspondence from a collection agency in regards to this debt and there is no TL other than the OC on my credit report. Where do I go from here?

Thanks!!

Sorry, it won't let me edit my previous response.

Well crap, I just got off the phone with Honda and because my atty didn't file a "reaffirmation" for the Honda they legally can not report anything after the bankruptcy was filed. So now the three years after the bk was filed and discharged doesn't count on my credit report. THAT really sucks. She said they HAVE to make a remark stating that there was a bk and stop reporting at that time due to bk laws. She said that they are not reporting it to the CRA's as derogatory... How do I proceed with this one? Do I fight it with the CRA and try to have them change the derogatory? THIS SUCKS!!!!!

If it wasn't listed in the bk then they should be able to remove it.What they can do is to let you dispute it then not respond to the dispute,as they have no LEGAL obligation to report it,nor to not report it.I think it is amazing that csr's can give a legal answer to your question, when we know that it can be changed,in fact a bk can be removed from your credit history.
