Default Child support on credit report

Hi all,
Thank you for the very informative info you have provided us all!
I went through Chapter 7 and was discharged 8/2008. Have been following your guidelines and now have my Fico score at 655. Still having trouble with Experian but making some head way.
Anyway, I have two problems that I am having trouble resolving. (1). NC Child support still shows as a neg. account but shows pays as agreed----$0 past due. The acct was opened in 1999 in which there were a few over 90 and 120's days late back then after the divorce etc... Since then everything paid on time. I disputed the open date which showed N/A (equifax) ---results came back as changed opened date from N/A to N/A ????? plus lowered my score to 611. How is this possible for no change to take effect but yet lower my score that much?
(2) Can a judgment that was included in Bankruptcy be removed? Two items showed up on my credit report in which I never received notice of. I filed personal BK because of a failed business. Attorney suggested personal BK to cover any assets. Two judgments were from two companies I did business with in the past but somehow showed up on my personal report.
Last but not least, I do have positive credit accounts that have been paid off and still show on my report from 1999. All my credit reports show credit history as 0 years. How do I remedy this?
Thanks again for all you provide us here and I am looking forward to any suggestions.
Paul

Hi p70816h. Welcome

The child support issue might be a little complicated. It depends on your state.
In some states, I know, it will stay on your reports for 10 years after it's paid off.
Other states, it should be removed once it's PIF.
It should, at least, be reported as closed with a zero balance....

Gonna look a little more into this since I don't have much experience with it........not sure which laws apply but I will see if I can find out.
How have you disputed this in the past? By mail, online....or by phone? Also.....I'm not really sure how it lowered your score when there was no change.......that is confusing.

You can try disputing judgments this way.......usually the CRAs say it's being reported by the courts and it's not. So you may be able to get them off that way (this also works for other types of public records too).

On the last thing.......where are you seeing history of 0 years? If they are reporting accts from 1999 I don't see how it can say that.

Well, I know I didn't answer all of your questions but I hope that helps some.
