Question Getting higher scores and rebuilding Credit

Here's a bit of a dilema I have.
I have a lot of credit in my name everything paid on time as agreed.
I want to establish more credit.
The problem/dilema is...I did not work last year so my tax files will reflect this especially with open unsecured lines of credit etc.
How can I reapply for credit and when should I reapply for credit?
Is it in a persons favor to have a lot of credit? or atleast hold a lot of cards even if they are not used?

In the second post, I list some good companies to start with if your credit scores are low (not sure if this applies in Canada.....but don't know why it shouldn't).

You can also look at the BK forum, there is a pinned thread on BK friendly creditors. I know you don't have a BK, but those are also lenders that work with low scores.
