Default Goodwill Letter Backfiring

I don't know what you call it, I think it was like a goodwill letter. I wrote one to a utility company explaining situation, asking them to delete from CB's and then what shows up - another one (DUPLICATE) EXCEPT the DATE is new and it was then FWD to CA Instead and now on my Credit Report. ??? HOW can they do that? And why? I really don't get it. I'm actually making things worse now by disputing and trying to delete this old account (and several others) from 2002/2003 time frame that I feel were paid or should of not been reported due to circumstance, etc and I had always communicated with them. So, now what?? I need serious help. haha. It's driving me crazzzzy!:p

You need to write to their states public utilities commission and report them along with their BBB and Ag of that state.

But for what? I don't believe the utilities company has done anything wrong.

Why would the utility company report a debt to collection agency after over 6 years ago?? It's only around $75. I can't be sure - though somehow I need to find out - I think this was part of my b/k anyway in 02.

Well, scratch that, I know why they did that - because I wrote them a goodwill letter, but c'mon - don't they have to communicate with me first before they send it to collections?? now I have them both on my credit report and for no good reason.

Honestly, I think this may have been part of my b/k file anyway. How do I find out? Call the courthouse? So, they shouldn't be listing a balance and forwarding this to collections 6 years later if that is the case.

Really. If it was included in BK, I don't believe they can sell the debt. I'm thinking that's a violation.
Normally that wouldn't really be surprising.......junk debt buyers a lot of times will buy very old debts for pennies on the dollar and get lucky collecting on people that have no idea about SOL.

You need to see if this actually was included in BK. I will see if I can find out about selling an IIB acct to a CA.

I will try and find out if this was included or not.

And no, I never heard from utility company at all and I'm thinking if this wasn't part of b/k I would of paid this anyhow.
