Im having somewhat of an issue as well... Alot of my old debt has fallen off (SOL) and I was rather surprised when I pulled my credit reports. All though I got mine from free credit report dot com, and paid the 25 bucks for all three reports and scores. If I were to dispute on that would it take 45 days? Also, I made a payment of $33 to an OC with the intent to pay the rest of the $100 to pay it off the next week, well I get this call from a CA stating that they have the account now, and that I owe them. They gave me a balance of .90 cents more then the original. After haggling with that back and forth I just paid off the OC and now owe nothing occording to the OC (Tident Asset, Orien, or something like that) Now I get a call today from that CA saying that they will report this debt to the bureaus if I dont pay them. They also mentioned that the OC (Trident) cant remove this from my report but instead the CA can. I dont know what the hell to do... Should I pay the CA too, and wait it out and see if i get some sort of refund later? This is driving me crazy.... lol
What contract did you sign with the ca?if you pay them you will never get a refund.Did you get a paid in full from the oc?I would not pay the ca them 1 dime. Yes they can go 45 days on a free report. Also read through the beginners guide, and follow the step by step. I used to live in La Mesa and Lemon Grove until 10 years ago

The problem went you dispute a tradeline on line. There's only so many choices you have, and doesn't really get to some disputes that would cover payment history etc.Lemon Grove was a really good place to live still have a few friends there.

That should be ok.The rest of it should be on paper so you know what you disputed and don't dispute for the same reason.

JJ you have been very helpful...Do you think it will be ok to also dispute my personal info through mail also...Only because they wouldnt let me update all my info or dispute all info...Especially Experian, wow they had about 5 entries for the same addresses, and some they would let me dispute and some they wouldn't:confused: will they remove all entries for for the same address? anyway I thought just to be thorough or anal...lol i would follow up with handwritten disputes...what do you think?

Writing is best for everything including personal info,Some address's can't be removed because some accounts are tied to it.

We advise not to dispute anything online and we give very good reasons for it. It's not just a suggestion or something we pulled out of our ass one day. It's what works. Doing otherwise can sabotage your whole efforts.

Taking 'shortcuts' will actually delay your process or completely kill your chances. With credit repair, you usually only have one shot at this and I can't express that enough. If you make a mistake now, you will probably NOT be able to fix it later.

So, please make sure you read everything extensively before acting. It's incredibly important to your financial well being and I'm sick of seeing people do this wrong. I hate the CRAs and I want you to win this game! They destroy people's lives and as a member of this forum, I don't want you to be one of those people.

polapony, there are so many issues here you might want to consider hiring professional help. The credit repair companies are NOT all scams, although some of them indeed are! It's just a matter of knowing how to choose a good one.

I have a debt with a company for a merchant account that I was supposed to pay a monthly fee for. I never used the equipment and returned it but they say that they never received it. I don't have any proof. They have been sending me bills in the mail for 5 years. Every month it's the same old bill, however they have been going to an old address. I haven't lived at the old address since 2005 and in 2008 I moved to a different state. Does the SOL still apply for my original state. In my original state the SOL is 3 years.
