This is the sample dispute letter i plan on sending, can you dispute the inquires along with everything else? Please let me know. thanks in advance Name Address Social Security number: xxx-xx-xxxx Date of birth: xx/xx/xxxx Equifax P. O. Box 740241 Atlanta, GA 30374-0241 01/01/2009 Dear Credit Bureau, I recently applied for a loan and I was told that my credit scores were too low so I bought my credit reports and after reviewing them I have noticed numerous errors. I am sure that this is not normal? Please correct these errors as soon as possible and remove them from my credit report! For some reason you have addresses for me which I do not recognize: Address(es) I have no knowledge of the following inquiries: Inquiries I have no record or knowledge of the following accounts: Account(s) If any of these accounts are verified, please furnish me with the name and address of the verifying party, the method of verification, and the reported first delinquency from the original creditor. Thanks for your time. Sincerely, [Name] |

You can do that......just be careful how many items you dispute in one letter. When disputing TLs and inquiries, I would do no more than 4 items. For personal info......this is the one exception......I don't see any problem with disputing any/all personal info.. So...no real limit on those. You should also always dispute the personal info first (before disputing anything else). Once you get the personal info updated/deleted....then move on. It could actually help you with getting the TLs and inquiries deleted. |

Ok i will just do the TL's on the dispute letters since i have gotten some personal info deleted from Experian by going online and i plan on calling TU and EQ tomorrow to get the addresses and stuff deleted (can you do that over the phone, i heard you could?)

Yes.....I actually like disputing the personal info over the phone. It goes quicker that way.

Now i ordered my 3 credit reports from freecreditreport.com and experian is the only one one that you can go on there website to look at your report. so what do i do about disputing info that i cant see? :-) do i just go off of what was on experian or will they tell me what addresses are on my report so i can dispute?

hmmm.....you can't go to TU's site through them? That sux. Well, sometimes calling up the monitoring service helps. Since these are technically paid reports.........sometimes they will be able to give you a "back door" web address for disputing........OR I have gotten them to give me a CR # before. Another trick I have used........is going directly to their site and ordering a report stating I was denied credit. The first time I did that it was true........then I did it again later and was surprised they still gave me a report. |
