Default any way to get Capital One to delete TL?

My fiance has a card with Capital One. The limit is $500 but she's been late like 6 times right now the balance is $965. I called them and asked if I paid the whole balance would they delete the whole account and I got different answers both times i called. The one guy said yes he would take care of it but couldn't give me anything in writing, the other girl said it was not her dept. What should I do with this? I want to know what is the best option for her credit. She really has no history so i'd like to get the slate cleaned if i could. The account is still with Cap 1 not a CA. They said if i paid it the account would be back in good standing. where should i go from here?

If they tell you that the account will be in good standing if you pay.......then you definitely need to get that in writing.
OCs and CAs especially will say anything to get you to pay........and then once you've paid the conversation never happened.

Also.....make sure they will remove the lates too. I kinda doubt crap1 will do this.......they are a big PITA. You may want to try talking to them again......and see if someone will make an agreement and put it in writing........otherwise you are going to need to dispute it with the CRAs.

MY one experience with cap 1 was i got behind joined a crp and made payments on time so after 4 months they reduced the late fees and over the limit fees which brought it down below the cl and my credit report didn't report any lates. That was then, this is know so who knows.

You might include that the supreme court has meant that bk means the purpose is to erase pre-existing debt, and that the reporting of this account is pre bk and is causing you the inability to establish credit at a decent rate and is doing serious damage your credit history.
