Default Ca question

I disputed a CA that was out of SOL and then soon after wards received a letter from them asking for canceled check, police report, paid letters or any other documentation to help them verify the debt and support my claim. They also state in the letter that they changed all entries to in disputed.

Then at the end of the letter they say this is an attempt to collect a debt. Should I now 1-2 punch these guys as it seems they have nothing to go by and is it a violation to attempt to collect during the dispute period as the letter shows a balance and stated this is a attempt to collect a debt.

this is also the entry that had no info at all that I posted about just a week ago. But my EQ had some info but it is way weird.

The report on EQ shows date of last activity 10/2004 and date opened as 10/2006 and date of last payment as 01/2007.. I never made any payment.Seems like the CA is cooking the books to make it look like it is still collectible but the date of first delinquency is well out of SOL.

Yes I would 1 2 punch them.......but maybe with the DV2 letter (in the dispute letters thread).....letting them know that they have NOT provided validation and that they are currently in violation........and if you do not receive proof of debt you consider the matter closed.

You already have them on one violation........so just keep a good papertrail.
When it comes down to it, you will have some leverage so you can get it deleted.
