Duplicate reporting

Can ya'll look this over and tell me what I should change. My dh has an account reporting twice for a debt and I am disputing it. Please give me your honest opinions.

Dear Sir or Madam:

I am writing to dispute information on my credit report. The items I wish to dispute are listed below and also highlighted on the attached copy of my credit report

Account Number: G************
Condition: Derogatory
Balance: $4225
Type: Installment sales contract
Pay Status: Collection/Chargeoff

In accordance with the FCRA you are not allowed to report a debt twice and by doing so you are in violation of the FCRA. I request that you delete both accounts immediately.

Enclosed is a copy of my credit report supporting my dispute. Thank you for investigating this matter.

Also, who do I all send this too. Should I send it to the OC as well as the CRA's? Is that sort of a 1-2 punch if I do?

I am writing to dispute information on my credit report (list your CR # as well). The items I wish to dispute are listed below and also highlighted on the attached copy of my credit report

Account Number: G************
Condition: Derogatory
Balance: $4225
Type: Installment sales contract
Pay Status: Collection/Chargeoff

You don't really need to list the whole TL like that. Just let them know you are disputing Acct # xxxxxxxx w/such and such OC because it is being reported twice and is a duplicate entry should be enough.

In accordance with the FCRA you are not allowed to report a debt twice and by doing so you are in violation of the FCRA. I request that you delete both accounts immediately.

At the end of your letter, you should also request an updated report once the investigation is over.

You should send it CM (but not RR) so that you can track it online.....plus that way you have proof.
Also don't forget to hand write or use purple or teal italic font.

No, you can only do a 1 2 punch with a CA.
OCs are different. Just dispute it first and see what happens.....I'm pretty sure at least one of them will be removed.

Call me dumb but where is your CR # at?

I think they are all up at the top... I know for TU and EQ they are. Trying to visualize it but I think EX only gives you the number on the first page of your report.
