Hello All, I am new to the site and I wish I had found this helpful information before I went to a credit repair agency about 7 months ago. I recently received a letter from Equifax requesting me to provide proof of my identity. My first question is, since I am sending them proof (Copy Of SS card & Utility Bill) should I also include a letter requesting them to delete my previous addresses and names, since I have moved most recently. I have numerous address listed on my report which I read could work against me while disputing in the near future. If I should include a letter, does it matter if it's typed or written and should I remain as generic as possible. Thanks |

Hi Philly. Welcome ![]() Yes, you can go ahead and dispute addresses when you send in your proof of ID. Best way to sent disputes to the CRAs is handwritten if possible. If not use purple or teal italic font (those can't be scanned by their computer "sorting" system). Definitely make then envelope handwritten and send it certified mail only (not read receipt). |
