I wasnt sure where to put this. I have never sent anything CM. I just want to send it CM without a signature. I have a green post card looking form & a green receipt looking thing w/ a bar code & a number you can peel off. Can someone explain exactly what I do & where I put each one one the envelope, or I even need both. Thank You

The green and white slip with the bar code is the Certified Mail slip. You will need to fill out the bottom portion with the recipient's name and address. Once you've filled it out and your letter is ready, just peel off the adhesive backing and place it on the envelope so that the bar code can be read from left to right and you want to put it just to the right of the return address with the dotted line even with the top of the envelope. Then fold over at the top. The numbers that you can peel off can either be left on OR if you are using the green read receipt card, you put it on the card where it asks for the CM/Article #) The slip will actually be covering the recipient's name and addy on the envelope. Once you pay, the postal worker will fill out the dollar amount and then detach that portion and give it back to you (that is your receipt)......so that all that is left on the envelope is the bar code part. If you want proof with a signature, then you use the Read Receipt (green) card. On one side, it says "sender complete this section". Just below that you fill out the recipient's name and addy again. To the right of that in section 3, check the box that says certified mail. Then just below that in section 2, you write down the CM# or you can use the number sticker that came off of the CM slip. Don't forget - on the backside, be sure to fill out your name and address. That way it gets returned to you. Then you remove the adhesive strips and place the card on the back side of the envelope (where the flap/opening is). I hope the way I explained it isn't more confusing. :p Please let me know if that made sense or if I need to clarify anything. ![]() One other thing I thought I would mention is that you can get these slips and cards mailed to you from the USPS website - Postal Store absolutely free. I always keep a supply of them on hand. It helps so that when you are writing up a letter, you already have the CM slip right there and can put the number in the letter. Just makes your proof a little more solid. Oh.....and I do think this pertains to credit repair......so I will ask Chane if he will move it to that section. |

can anyone advise on how to dispute " short sales" and what are the banks allowed to report on your credit report when a short sale appears......my file is already showing late payments with WAMU .......then I was able to negotiate a short sale and now I have a derogatory reporting the short sale........so in affect I now have 2 derogatory tradelines reporting virtually the same account number. also does anyone know the new physical address where to send Equifax disputes......I am getting a return to sender at Equifax 1550 Peachtree Street NW Atlanta, GA 30309 |

Hi william, It would be a good idea to start a new thread. You're question really doesn't pertain to the OP. Then we can answer your questions........not to mention your thread will be easier to find and search. |
