Default Recieved disputes back and....

Transunion I do not really understand thier letter goes on saying, thanks for contacting us, then gives thier general policy for disputes and finally says
Re: Policy for reporting credit information

Transunion's records do not allow the area code of your phone number.

Next page goes on to list the contact info for all the TL's and inquiries.

I dont understand the phone number issue anyone have an idea?

!!!And for the good news from Equifax/CSC, the letter starts out saying: "The items listed below were investigated at your request. Please review your attached credit file for the current status of each item."

The tradeline I disputed is no longer in the list of tradelines on the report!!!

The two collection accounts are no longer listed on report!!!

My score has already went from
529 on 1/25 to 586 on 3/14!

Thanks everyone for your help!!!

That's great on the deletes!! :D

I have NO CLUE what TU is saying either.. That doesn't make any sense. Has it been the FULL 30 days? Is the investigation definitely over?

No it has not been the full 30 days, it seems that they sent it right after they recieved my disputes. So I hope it is not over.

Today I recieved another letter from them. I did, probably not a good thing, send them another dispute letter right after I sent the first one within 2 days. It was for a public record that I found out is SOL after I sent the first letter.

The letter I recieved today says:

Re: Verification documents not available.

We store information in our records as it is supplied to us by creditors. When information is disputed, we are required to investigate and record the current staus of the information. We do not provide dispute verification responses recieved from creditors. If you need to obtain documentation or written verification concerning your accounts, then please contact your creditors directly.

So for this one did I possibly word it wrong? Is this usual? And what should I do?

thanks!!!

Ok....just wait. Hang on and wait at least 45 days from the original dispute and see what happens. Both of those letters sound like stall letters to me.

Now......the thing is.......is if you had not sent them a second dispute, then when the 30 days is up you could have filed an FTC complaint and then redisputed....... demanding deletion (if you got no other response).

Since you did send a second dispute while a previous one was in progress.....more than likely that extended both investigations to 45 days.

I really think what you got were stall letters (especially the second one....I've gotten that one before). So wait it out, count out the days and make sure you get a response no later than 45 days.

So...
I checked my reports today and here is what they have for results so far.

For the second dispute I sent in it is gone from my report!

The items from the first dispute l sent in are still there. As of yesterday it would have been 30 days so maybe it was completed within 30 days. I am going to wait another 15 days to see what happens, but this is good news so far. It was a dergoratory account for 3k that was deleted. In under 3 months I have gotten it from 588 to 653!

I did have a question about stall letters though. Are they just sending them for a stall in a reply, or trying to stall in the investigation? I guess I dont really understand why they would even send them if they have to legally have it back to you in 30 days?

Thanks for your help!!!

Nixer that's great news! :D
Good for you. That's a BIG increase in score in just a few months.

About the stall letters......that's just a tactic they use. They are hoping to get a response from you so that they can extend the investigation... (shady, eh?) I have gotten stall letters from TU like that. EQ used to always send you a request for proof of ID after you sent them a dispute.........then if you sent them what they asked for, they would call it "addtional information" pertaining to the dispute.....and would then extend it 15 days.

CRAs are in bed with the OCs and CAs.......that's how they make their money.......so the more you get removed, the less money they make from the OCs and CAs.

So.....just for future reference.......(and for anyone else reading this)...just know that so much as sneezing towards a CRA during an investigation will allow them to extend it. So always give it the full 30 days no matter what........before you decide to contact them again.

I see!!!

Thats smart of them! I knew by sending in another dispute it would extend it, but had no idea if you did anything at all, they would probably extend it.

Thanks for posting about the ID, I havent recieved one of those letters, but if I did I sure would have sent it in thinking they needed the ID to investigate then screwed myself.

Thats a great tip.

thanks.

Yes......with the EQ one, they will even tell you they won't send you the results until they see proof of ID.......it's BS!
I got a letter like that with one of my first disputes to EQ. I had no clue......so I sent them the proof of ID. They extended the investigation. I was pissed.

Then like 2 months later on another dispute.......they did the same thing! This time I ignored it.....and they still sent me my results.

Sneaky bastards.

So I did get back the disputes in the mail today! Lucky for me they did not extend it.

So already working on my next round of disputes I am wondering. In the first round I disputed a 60 day late on one TL, on the same TL I have 2 other 30 day lates. Can I dispute them or will they probably not investigate saying they already have? It does still show the 60.

I am going to go with another round of GW letters also.

And for another TL I have a old student loan account that has 1 60 day late but was opened in 2001 closed in '06. It is one of the 3 oldest TL's I have with them. My question is should I dispute the late or should I not because it is old and may have a negative impact if it gets deleted?

Thank you!

You know......on that older one, (and this is just me) I would just leave it alone........and not dispute it. That would REALLY suck if it did get deleted from a dispute. I think maybe try a gw letter only. Lates will become less and less of an impact over time.........so if it's otherwise reporting positively, it's probably not affecting your score that much.

As for the one that you just disputed.......I would give it a month or so break. Dispute something else and then come back to that. If you get a "frivolous" or "previously investigated" letter you have to wait about 3 months before you can dispute it again.
