I just had a had inquiry and my score went up by 7 points on equifax, I havent checked the TU yet. I thought they made your score go down or is it because I havent had any in a long time did it go up? Any thoughts? |

No, it can't be the inquiry that made it go up. There has to be something else. Age, you paid a balance down a little, etc. Also if you are looking at FAKOs (not FICOs), those tend to fluctuate some. |

I am confused by this one. From myfico I have score watch alerts and it actually says the inquiry from my bank (attempting to open a checking account) has made my score go up. And also says Below. Your FICO score may have gone up because the following factor is not hurting your FICO score as much as before: You have a recent public record or collection on your credit report. From them it is true fico not fako correct? The above statement doesnt seem right? |

Ok, actually that does make sense. That's age helping you. It's just saying that an acct that was hurting your score isn't affecting it quite as much. And yes......FICOs are the ONLY scores that are correct. All of the others are irrelevant. |
