Help with Credit Card Charge Offs & Collections

I'm not sure how many "good" TL accounts I have. I have 3 credit cards that have all been closed by the creditors so I don't even have a credit card that I can use now (what was I thinking) but not all of them show up as being closed on my credit reports. Would I have to buy something from Crown Jewelers for it to show up on my Credit Report or just sign up for a card? It feels good to actually be getting somewhere.

Actually I just looked on Crown Jewelers Website and you have to make a purchase for it to show up on a credit report.....I don't really need any jewelry, any suggestions??

I’ve heard some bad things about Crown before so I have been skeptical. Have you had success with them?

I've had no problems with crown jewelers.Just buy a pair of ear rings about $40 dollars then it reports pretty cheap for a $25000.00 credit line.

I think dealing with an OC is always the best choice. If you can get them to recall the debt, then the CA will leave you alone.......and they have to remove it from your CR once you dispute it.

What did you hear?

They were a huge help in boosting my dh's scores when he needed it.
I didn't have any problems at all with them.

jemelton, you do have to buy something for it to report. I didn't need any jewelry either but I just bought an inexpensive pair of earrings. OR you could always just buy a gift for an upcoming birthday........mother's day.....something like that.

Ok, I might as well try that then....it does say that it can take 90 days for it to show up on a credit report though...has anybody had an experience of how long it actually takes to show up.

No......mine showed up in maybe about a month. It didn't seem to take that long.

They just told me on the phone that they report the first of every month............
