Oh, if you can pay the state directly instead of a CA.......then yes, do that!

I would just ignore the CA (unless they are calling and bugging you)......and just pay it. It would also be a good idea to put a restrictive endorsement on the back of the check stating "For deposit only to the account of *whoever you write the check out to*". That way, they cannot transfer the payment over to the CA.

If they transfer payment over to the CA (which is possible) then the CA has the right to report it on your CR..........and you do not want that.

Re inquiry dated ___: account no. (none)
Greetings:
Thank you for your recent inquiry. This is not a refusal to pay, but a notice that your claim is disputed.
I demand that you produce a copy of the documentation that created the debt, such as the credit card agreement I originally signed, along with an account history. Without this documentation, and your continuing to report the account without providing proof that you owe the money, is a violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act,

This is a request for validation made pursuant to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. Please complete and return the attached disclosure request form.
Be advised that I am not requesting a "verification" that you have my mailing address, I am requesting a "validation;" that is, competent evidence that I have some contractual obligation to pay you.
You should also be aware that sending unsubstantiated demands for payment through the United States Mail System might constitute mail fraud under federal and state law. You may wish to consult with a competent legal advisor before your next communication with me.
Your failure to satisfy this request within the requirements of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act will be construed as your absolute waiver of any and all claims against me, and your tacit agreement to compensate me for costs and attorney fees.
Best regards,
[Subscriber]

Jp morgan/chase bought wama believe me when i tell you your in there records.Just disputed and in a different post i received a reaffrim letter from chase do not sign any letter from then.pro may say they don't have any records but they do.A point of law everytime you signed for a purchase you reaffrim the signing of the contract,so producing a signed purchase slip is producing a signed contract and they keep very good records.

So it would be a good idea to pay via check instead of online in this instance? If I pay the state directly online could they still sent it to the CA? Thanks so much.

It's always possible they could forward payment to the CA.......I think it would be a better idea to pay by check.

Default update

I have been taking steps on my own to remove negative items from my credit report the last few months and am really starting to see some results.

Here are my credit scores as of today:

Transunion 606
Experian 643
Equifax 577

Anybody have any other advice on how to keep them going up?

Thanks so much

Yay on the scores! You're doing good.

And shame on you for confusing me early in the morning! lol
You had brought up a post that was a duplicate of the first post in this thread........and it had gotten no replies. I couldn't figure out how I missed it! So I started to answer it and realized it sounded VERY familiar. ha ha......I had already answered it in this thread! :p
So I merged the posts together. You had me baffled for a minute there.

Ok.......ANYWAY.......what is it that caused your score to go up? Did you get any of the negatives removed? Just trying to see what you have done so that we can figure out what your next steps should be.

Thanks,

I actually confused myself because it appeared that there had been no replies to my thread when I knew there had been.

Anyway, the WAMU providian has been removed and a collection has also been removed.

On 4/8 my TU score was 582 and as of 4/20 it is 606.
On 4/8 my Ex score was 606 and as of 4/20 it is 643.
On 4/8 my Eq score was 599 and as of 4/20 it is 577 (why would it go down??)

I still have one collection (the duke energy mentioned in this thread) that I am still working on, I called DE yesterday and they are going to send me a statement of account with them (a bill) and I am going to pay them directly and then provide my paperwork to the CA.

This is the last "major" thing that I am working on right now. The next step would be paying down the balances on the cards to get them under the 50% of credit available but I really dont have a ton of extra money to do that right now.

I also have a few inquiries that I did not authorize and was thinking of disputing them. Any other ideas? Thanks so much!!

when you do something like this, where you settle with the OC rather than the CA, how do you get both removed from your report if they are both reporting?

They are not both reporting, just the CA's are.

Yes, and by paying the OC, the CA should have NO right to report it any more.
Were you going to do a PFD with restrictive endorsement on the check?

Not sure why your EQ score would go down. Are those true FICO scores? if not I wouldn't worry about it or put too much stock in it. Sometimes the FAKOs just fluctuate.......not sure why. Just look over an old report with a current one and see what differences you can find.

So, what negatives are left? Did you do gw letters for the accts with the late notations?
Also how many positive TLs do you have? You may want to see about adding some so that the good is outweighing the bad. Even if you just got something like a Crown Jeweler's acct. (they have a decent CL so it may give you a bit of a boost)
