Default Where do I start?

I have two credit cards that I have paid down to a total of $23K (from $36K) using a reduced interest rate directly w/ Bank of America. Typically, I pay two payments on the last day of the month which BofA electronically transfers from my checking account.

In October, I received a letter stating that I was several payments past due which I knew to be innaccurate. I called and explained and the gentleman agreed and didn't understand why I received the letter. I asked him to correct this error immediately and was assured he would. Yesterday, I received a call stating again that I was several payments past due. I told the lady that her info was incorrect and she proceeded to laugh at me. In the past 24 hours, I have been called 5 times. I told the last person I spoke to that I would call them when I had time to verify that I was correct. They apparently don't care.

Should I look into credit repair while paying off this debt, or after the debt has been paid? If I were to pay the entire balance lump sum, can I negotiate ALL negative reporting be removed? I have no ther credit problems other than these two. Have a current mortgage, and a vehicle that has been paid for.

Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks in advance..

Can you pull old bank statements that would show that BofA has been getting paid through your checking account?

I can do that. Maybe I didn't express myself clearly. I am being charged w/ being over 120 days past due despite showing 27 consecutive payments. I was told today that my accounts can only be "re-aged" once every 5 years. I was told on several previous occassions that after 6 consecutive payments, my account would be brought current.

I don't know what to do...

Ah.......so you mean that even though you show all of these on time payments, they are still reporting to the CRAs as 120 days late?

Did you, by any chance, get that agreement (that after 6 payments, they would bring you current) in writing? or get the reps name? Otherwise it will be hard to prove..........and of course they will act like the conversation never happened.

Also, have you tried disputing this with the CRAs yet?

I guess I assumed this was standard procedure and they would do what they said they would do. Big mistake on my part..I have retained Lexington to wage war with them so we will see..
