Default Dispute vs. Validation

Please bear with me...As I understand the difference between "dispute" and "validation". Both are one in the same except validation does not have a time limit? I just purchase copy of EQ report and 3-1 from True credit. The first thing that jumps out at me are the inconsistencies in the personal info section. Name, birthday, address, just to name a few. Will I have to dispute or validate? And will I do this with each CRA? Is it also best to attack one area at a time? Thanks for any feedback,

No, that is not correct.

A dispute is with a CRA (credit reporting agency aka consumer reporting agency aka credit bureau)

Validation is with a CA (collection agency)

The 2 are completely different and should not be mixed up.

They both typically have 30 days to respond. Learn more here at the forum before you decide to do either of them as making a mistake at either can be very costly.

Thanks for the reply. As I was reading the thread I wasn't quite sure if they were the same or not. It's starting to make sense. I will definitely "arm " myself with more knowledge on the matter before I proceed. Again thanks
