Default Need some advice for repair

I need some advice as to how to handle these items on my CR. I have listed all the negatives by newest to oldest. I have estimated the original default date by the date Experian says it will be off my report. I need to know what is the best solution for each; (validation letter, settlement, low percentage settlement based on expired or soon to expire SOL), i don't know which if any I may have recieved the initial collection letter, so will a request for validation still work? I'm assuming that the last 4 items are old enough that lenders won't really consider them, but how will they affect my score. As of 11/1/2008 my score was 540 per Experian only. I am most interested in fixing the ones that will up my score the most. I am hoping to buy a home around March 2009. Will it help to write an explanation to the CRs as all the newest negatives span a 5 month period where I had financial difficulties (10/06 - 3/07)

I take it that you pulled this information from all 3 credit reports and not just Experian is that right? Are any of these paid off?

If you'd like, you can put a personal statement on your credit reports explaining the situation you had with finances. That's probably what you meant, but I don't see how it could hurt.

These are off of Experian only. I subscribed to their credit monitoring for 15/month, but it looks like trucredit has all 3 reports and scores plus unlimited pulls for the same price. i might switch. I only listed unpaid collections/charge offs and I have had zero contact with any of these collectors. If I need to pay any of them off, I will... hopefully at a deep discount. I am getting ready to dispute addys (12) and names (5) today. Speaking of... should I keep my full name (as shown on my SS) or just a simple First Last listing on the CRs?

AND I did meant putting a statement on my CRs, but I think I'll wait to see how many I can get removed.

Sure, go ahead and dispute addys. One thing I would suggest is if you haven't paid any of these off, the best thing for your score would be to deal with the newer derogatory information first. Try the one-two punch method and try to deal with the OCs rather than the CAs.

Although it is wise to monitor you CRs by using an online service, you may not really need one. I have recently posted a thread regarding this matter. A few ways to obtain credit reports

Whenever you send a dispute to the CRAs, they are supposed to send you a free copy of your CRs with the results of each investigation.
