Default CRAs taking too long to investigate

A while back I had a baddy on each of my 3 CRs. I disputed the paid collection accounts. TU deleted it after a few weeks. I sent the dispute letters on Sept. 22nd and have yet to hear anything from EQ or EX.

I did send the letters to the addresses listed here on the main site which I heard can delay their response. Is it possible that the 30 window for them to investigate excludes the time it takes for the mail to get to one place from the other?

I'm guessing that it would take about a week for them to get my letter and for me to get their letter. Is that right?

If you did not send the dispute CM (so that you can track it online), then you should guestimate 5 days for mail time both ways.

So if you sent the dispute off on 9/22, then you can assume they rec'd it by 9/26. So their investigation should have been done by 10/25 and you should receive the results no later than 10/30. (Now that is if you disputed with a regular report. Remember if you use a free report, it takes 45 days)

So, if you haven't rec'd your results by then, you should file an FTC complaint and then send a second letter to the CRA along with a copy of the complaint demanding the TL to be deleted.

Well today is the 25th. of October. My guess is since they've taken so long to verify, they're going to have to delete it.

_-=Fingers crossed=-_

You were right, Trish. I received the results of the dispute from EQ today.

They deleted the two CAs! That means my credit is completely repaired! It's kinda funny that it was received on the last possible day.
