Default Improving my credit score

What else should I be doing? I have two accounts in collections and I have Lexington working on getting those deleted, I've paid down the balances on my two credit cards accounts that were closed and I now have a new credit card with a $300 limit on it but I don't use it maybe $20 for gas and I pay that off in full every month. Anything else I should be doing? My score hasn't gone up that much, it went up like 20 pts and within about 3 days dropped about 10, I don't see why that would happen, I have the FICO monitoring system and the only reason they have listed is that one of my accounts when form "past due" to "paid or paying as agreed" I don't see who that could hurt my score, if anyone has any other ideas on what I could be doing to improve my score by all means do tell, I'm trying to get out of the mess I'm in by the end of next year :p

All you need to worry about is removing the bad and adding the good things on your credit report.

Guys, I had one more question to add to this, Lexington is taking care of the collections and the lates on my credit reports but I don't think that the deal with inquiries, it say I have 11 on my report and I really want to try to get some of these deleted, I know u guys say I shouldn't dispute things along with Lexington to just let them do their thing, but since I don't think they do anything about inquiries would it be ok for me to go ahead and dispute these inquiries with the credit bureaus? And should i sent two seperate letters for two inquiries or should i out it all in one letter?

You should probably just leave them alone while Lexington does their thing. Don't they answer such questions for you?

I called Lexington and asked them and they said that they don’t do anything about the inquiries on a credit report , so I guess its ok for me to try and get some of them deleted on my own ?

Absolutely not. If you send them a dispute, while Lexington is disputing in your name, it extends the investigation. It doesn't matter if they are pertaining to 2 different things.

Inquiries fall off after 2 years and almost have no impact after 90 days in most cases.

Inquiries are often not worth the trouble it takes to have them removed. IMO inquiries are rarely worth disputing. Dealing with the CRAs is not easy and can often bring about unintended consequences. If they catch you slipping, they will make you pay for it.

All I'm saying is that it is definitely possible to have something negative come from disputing items on your credit report. I've seen plenty of people jump into credit repair without know what they're doing and ruin their credit for many years to come. Once that happens, your credit is usually irreparable.

The credit repair process takes patience and understanding. One wrong move or bad advice from a "credit repair expert" can mean the difference between getting approved for a loan and being denied for years to come. This stuff is way too important to mess with if you don't know what you're doing.

You have hired Lexington. They are the best. Let them do their thing.

Another thing you might want to do is get an acct with Crown Jewelers. If you have a verifiable job and phone #, you are guaranteed an approval.

You have to buy something before they will report but what I did is bought an inexpensive pair of earrings and then made small payments each month on it. They usually give a $1500 credit limit which is probably higher than any other cards you can get right now if you are in the 500's. That should help boost your score a little..........and they do report to all 3 CRAs.
