Default need some help/advice

I have been paying on a car loan for 5 years and last month I forgot to make the payment resulting in my first late/missed payment. I was informed of this on the 36th day and of course the lender reported me and I now have a mark on my credit. To make matters worse my Grandfather co-signed so now his credit will be impacted as well. I pleaded with the lender and they told me there is no way the mark can be removed even though I made the payment the very same day I received notice (the 36th day) since it was not their error.

What are my options to get this mark off???
Thanks in advance

Call back and talk to someone else. If they tell you it can't be removed, call back and talk to someone else, etc.

If that doesn't work, just keep disputing it.

I agree with chane to keep calling even if you have to call the bank president.

They have the incident on file so when I call back I am told I have already quested the mark removed but it is impossible since it was not their mistake. I will continue to call if you feel I have any chance of getting this fixed.

What is the best way to get a copy of my credit report??? I have a feeling I need to start disputing.
Thanks again

Their passing the buck call and talk to someone in charge, until you can find some one who will help.If you go to experian.com you can buy one for about 10 dollars. When they tell you it's not there mistake, true however mistakes can be corrected. The only mistake you can't correct is if you set off an atombomb by mistake.

Also try googling the company and get the address for the CEO and his/her name. Send them a letter (make it a GOOD one) begging and pleading for help and let them know how it is seriously affecting your credit. Send the letter CMRRR and put it attention to the CEO (whatever their name is).

Getting to someone with some pull can make a difference. If you still don't get any love.....then yes, you are going to have to dispute your heart out.

Good luck.

Now I am really confused. I pulled a copy of my experian and equifax reports today (8/29/08) and they both checked out fine. The company in question is Primus. I made the one month late payment on 8/18/08 and both reports reflect that payment as being on time and in good standing for the month of August. Both reports say last reported "08/2008"

I have a problem for sure as one of my credit card companies reduced my spending limit. When I contacted them I was told an "ALERT" appeared on my credit. Did I pull these reports too soon??? I thought they were up to minute but maybe the problem will not show up until next month??

I suppose the third report could contain all the problems but I figured I should wait at least a month before I pull it.

Lastly, if I pull these reports again in a month or two will it have a negative affect on my credit????

If you pull your own report you shouldn't have it show as an alert.

What kind of an Alert?? I guess I'm not following....
I have heard that cc companies will "talk" to each other. If they see you are late on other CCs, they will jack up your rates or reduce your limit. That kinda sounds like what you are saying......but like I said, not sure I'm understanding.

And NO, absolutely not. You can pull your own report as many times as you want and it will not affect anything or cause any alerts. Don't worry about that. They are called "soft" pulls and only you can see them.
