Default 15 Days Longer To Dispute With AnnualCreditReport?

I just signed up and have a lot of reading left, but you've stated multiple times that if you get your free credit report from annualcreditreport.com that it gives the bureaus an extra 15 days for the creditors to validate the items that you dispute.

Does it state this anywhere, or is this just something you've learned?

I believe it states it right in the FCRA and I think it used to at the ACR site. Several people have asked this question. I guess, I should "prove" that I didn't make it up.

I will look for the proof later. If anyone else finds it, please feel free to post it as well.

If you call the cra's they will tell you if you take it off a free credit report that gives them an extra 15 days,no body knows why it is in the fcra.remember the cra's was set up by the creditors so its made up of the greedy by the greedy for the greedy who shall not perisn in are lifetime.and they still are after you die.In fact after my mother-in-died they called us to see why she hadn't made any payments in 3 years i told them she had been sick and wasn't able to function normaly so with out power of attorney there was nothing we could do as we explained when we sent the death cert. to her creditors. They said(Yes we see that but when will she send her payment).I had to explain the meaning of death to them.

Here ya go

It's in the FACTA law.......sec 211 under free reports/reinvestigations

"‘‘(3) REINVESTIGATIONS.—Notwithstanding the time periods
specified in section 611(a)(1), a reinvestigation under that section
by a consumer reporting agency upon a request of a consumer
that is made after receiving a consumer report under
this subsection shall be completed not later than 45 days after
the date on which the request is received."

Ahh yes, the FACTA. I should have known that. lol. The FACTA is part of the FCRA though, so my guess was kinda right.
