Default How Do I Get Lates Off My Credit ?

I was out of work and my credit cards were late for like 3 to 4 months. I am paying off all my credit cards right now. Once paid off is there any way to get the lates off my credit? I was only late for those 3 to 4 months. Before that I was never late and like a 700+ score.

So can I get these lates off once the bills are paid off?
Thanks!

Are they reporting as lates on your credit report or have they been charged off?

Late payments can be devastating to your credit reports. They seem like a minor issue, but they're definitely not.

Have you tried to dispute them? Have you thought about having professionals take care of them for you? I think that is the best route. They have perfected their methods of disputing items and know the consumer laws very well. But, you can also try to dispute them yourself. You may also want to check out this page:

If they are charge offs, would it be best just to get the whole account removed? or can you request they change the status from "charge off" to paid as agreed?

Ask the CRA to remove them.

I would try a goodwill letter.
Let them know what your situation was and make it a good sob story. Beg and plead and promise that it won't happen again now that you are back on your feet again. Don't give up if the first one doesn't work (you can also try calling too). Keep trying until you get a sympathetic ear. Sometimes even sending the letter to the Pres or CEO (an exec with some pull) can make it more likely to work.
