Help with settled accounts

Hi.. I don't know if anyone out there can help me with this one. I have a few charge offs and settled in full or settle for less than full accounts listed on my credit report. I contacted the OC to see if they can remove them and the refuse to do so. Even the CA refused to remove the settled accounts from my CR. Does anyone know if I can use the Validation method to get these accounts off my CR. Thanks.. I would appreciate any advice on this matter.

Have you tried disputing them with the credit bureaus? That's the first thing you should do.

You should also dispute any old addresses that may be associated with the accounts as well.

Hi Chane,

I haven't disputed the items and previous address with the CR yet. I will do that next.. I also have judgement that was satisfied, can I dispute that also using the validation process?

Yes, you can dispute the judgment too. I would dispute the addresses first to be safe, but you don't HAVE to.

It's a verification process, by the way, not validation. Credit bureaus must verify accounts. Collection agencies must validate them.
