Default Can ca's pull hard inquiries on your credit?

I have several CA's pulling hard inquiries on my reports. I thought NO ONE could pull hard inquiries on you UNLESS you apply for something. THE SAME CA'S ARE PULLING MY CREDIT OVER AND OVER AGAIN....

Can anyone point me to the info that say's either way?

Thank you,
Flypilot

They can...but only if they were assigned your debt/have an acct on you.
The law that pertains to this is in the FCRA section 604

What if they "bought" your debt? This seems like BS. They are pulling my credit over and over lowering my score with each pull.

Unfortunately, they do have PP if they bought the debt.
I will see if I can find out anything about excessive pulling though. I agree that's BS.. I think sometimes they do that just to lower your score and piss you off.

How often (and how many times) are they pulling your CR?

I have looked around and it seems as though they have the right to pull your reports. There is nothing limiting the amount of pulls (no laws or case law that I can tell so far).

What you should do is send the CA a combination DV/non-pp letter and also dispute the inquiries with the CRAs as non-pp.

The same lawyer that is affiliated with CACH LLC has pulled our reports 3 times in 2 months. The debt he trying to collect on we disputed with the OC as having tons of fraudulant charges on it from when my wallet was lifted at a casino. That is why we stopped paying them. We told them, correct the acct or we are not paying anymore. Technically, this attorney cannot prove we owe any of the debt. I am ready to send an affidavit of fraud to the OC since they never corrected the account.

The other thing is that the account is in my wifes name only and he is pulling my reports as well.... I am sure there is a violation there...

Definition for "non-pp" please...

Hmm..... yeah, I don't think they should be pulling your reports if you are not a co-signer or AU on the acct.

Here are a couple non-pp letters (pp=permissible purpose):
Dispute Letters

And yes, I think it's a good idea to send the fraud affidavit to the OC.

Thank you....

Do you have a sample letter to go with the fraud affidavit? I want this garbage off my reports and most importantly I want the scumbag bottom feeding junk debt buyers off my back.

Thanks,
Fly

Some companies will have their own forms for you to fill out..
But if not, read here..... Tools For Victims- Deter. Detect. Defend. Avoid ID Theft
There are some sample letters for disputing charges on an existing acct.

You may need to actually file a police report before sending this letter.
