Well, I sent the letters to the Attys. One responded with a notice to respond in 15 days or they'll move to garnish. My guess is they are threatening but if I go directly to the CA maybe I can cut 'em off at the pass and strike a deal with the CA. The Atty is a local firm and I'm dealing with a CA in IL. I just want this thing gone so I can move on with my life. Any suggestions?

Any luck with seeing if you could vacate the judgment? Because if they hold a judgment against you they can (and most likely will) start trying to garnish wages. If it's allowed, they could even seize your bank acct.

If you are not able to file a motion to vacate the judgment, you may want to contact an atty and get legal advice OR you could try talking to the atty to make payment arrangements so they won't garnish your wages.

What I'd like to do is settle it outright and be done with it. My next move is to jump over the attys and go directly to the CAs. The amount stated is up in the 80k and I would be paying on it for life. I just can't do that.

My goal is to have the liens removed so I can sell my house. These attys are just penny ante hired legal processors that do these things in batch files and the judges that stamp these things have no idea what it is they're doing. Yes they have legal leverage but I can't believe they can hold my feet to the fire, it's just not right. Something is terribly wrong here.

Sorry, it's just getting out of control.
