When you submit a letter to the collections agencies, make sure that you are sending it certified. The collection agency has 30 days to respond to it. If they do not, you can now send a letter to the three bureaus. You have to send them a copy of the original letter, a COPY of the certified receipt and a new letter stated that you have sent a letter and they have not responded. They will in turn delete the inquiry from your report.
