Default CA will not delete after settlement.

I sent out a letter I found on this web site asking to settle the account and to have the bad report deleted. The settlement was accepted but they will not agree to remove from my credit report. They said, because it is owned by Hilco they do not report Hilco reports and they will not delete. What should I do next?

It sounds like you settled with the OC (but didn't get it in writing!!) but they may have assigned (not sold) the debt to a CA.... if this is the case you might be ok. just 1-2 Punch the CA and they won't reply (because it's not worth their time as they won't make any money on it) in 30 days and you should be good.

If you paid the money and didn't get the "delete" in writing - you are F'd. The CA will probably get deleted, but the OC won't stand a chance of getting deleted. They have no reason to be nice to you... they got what they wanted. The only thing you can do is spam them to death and they might get tired of you being annoying and delete it to avoid further spam from you.

Always negotiate and get it in writing. then send payment after you have the paper. Remember who the scumbag is.... it's them, not you. Do you really think they like doing their job?? Uh no, it's the only job they can get.
