This is a judgment being reported in public records? Does your CR show who's reporting it?
The TL from the OC is also reporting?

I would be disputing both of those........especially if the OC is no longer in business.

Yes Trish, I have 2 judgments being reports as public records. They show the following:

(My City) County Municipal Court
Docket # XXXXXXXXXXXXX
Source: XP
File Date: 01/03
Amount: $1,055
Status Date: 01/03
Plaintiff:12345567-09 Strawbridges (Which is out of business and not showing any address for the OC)
Action Type Judgment

(My City) Courts Online
Docket # XXXXXXXXXXXX
Source: TU
Plantiff: Apartment Comples
File Date: 10/06
Action: Judgment
Status: Judgmen
Amount: $450.00
(This is not accurate. I had moved out of the Apartment years behand w/o a balance. The apartment comples records are not up to date. I moved out in 2004 and this was suppose to happen in 2006, while someone else lived there. That same tenant still lives there to this day.)

Oh, then yes.......most definitely dispute those.
Look at the guide to disputing judgments thread if you haven't yet......there are letters and instructions in there to help you.

I read the judgment thread...So to make sure I get it right....I have already confirmed with the county records on line that both claims are documented. Now a couple of questions:
1. Should I still send out the dispute letter list in the thread for both to all 3 CRA?
2. Do I also send a DV letter to the Apartment Complex?
3. Do I aslo send a DV to Strawbridges? And if so their mailing address is shown on the county court document that I printed off line and it also shows the attorneys name and ID #.
4. Also to help provide some insight....The Strawbridges Account is about 6-7years olds min and the apartment comples issue is 6 years old and I wasn't living at the apartment with the deafulting monies weren't paid.

Thanks

Just start off with the judgment dispute letter to the CRAs (only to the ones reporting the judgments)
If you want to go ahead and send out the PR letter to the courthouses that are supposedly reporting these, you can. Sometimes they take a while to get back to you and some people have had to write them 2 or 3 times to get a straight answer.. That way when the time comes, you can have those letters from the court ready.

Unless Strawbridges and the Apt complex are reporting TLs (under derogatory accts) do not DV them.

Thanks I will need it if with my luck..... If a collection agency is reporting that staus of an account as an open collection, which I know is a violation...Whould you suggest a 1-2 punch and dispute it with the CRA as just a violation or spell out the exact violation?

No. Don't worry about pointing out violations to a CRA......they don't care.
When it comes to violations, just keep a good paper trail for solid proof. Consider it "hidden" ammunition. When/if the time comes and you need to use that info........you will be sending your threats directly to the CAs.

When you dispute it, you can just say that the acct status is incorrect and it is not an open acct.

Hello Trish,

I had a quick question about a letter I received from LVNV Funding. I did a 1-2 punch on a previous account showing Nextel Communications. I am not sure when I had a Nextel account but if I did have one it has to be atleast 10 years ago. Nevertheless, I sent a DV letter to LVNV Funding and 12 days later I receive a letter from them stating that their verified the debt. There verision of verifing the date is show on a sepereate page with the following:

Validation of Debt: June 10th 2009, my name, account number and that it was acquired from Nextel and now owned by LVNV Funding. I am not a very fluent when dealing with CA, but is this a valid DV? And if not. what would you suggest I do next.

P.S. As part of my 1-2 punch, I sent a letter to the CRA stating that I had no knowledge of the account, which I do not. This is what is showing on my credit report:
CA: LVNV FUNDING LLC
OC: NEXTEL
DATE REPORTED: 02/09
DATE OPENED: 09/07
DLA: N/A
ACCT TYPE: OPEN - Which Is A Violation
BALANCE: $250.00
PAST DUE: $270.00
MONTHS REVIEWED: 15
30/60/90+: 0/0/0
