Trish in reference to your response to Credit Crisis, I am a resident of PA...AFNI headquaters is located in IL and Asset Acceptance LLC corporate headquaters in located in Michigan. Since PA & Michigan both honor the RE on PFD then I guess I am fine with that approach? And I am still researching IL laws.

Great Trish, I will try that approach because I am hoping to increase my credit score a few point within a month or so if possible. To answer your previous question, I never sent the DV letter because I had previously paid for credit reapir services before I became aware of this helpful site & you expert imput. I am currently not satisifed with the companies approach in handling my account so I am thinking about informing them that I want to cancel my services and our business relationship.

Oh you definitely should. ESPECIALLY if you are disputing and repairing things on your own. You should never do both (have a CRO working for you and do it yourself) because it can REALLY confuse things with the CRAs and end up getting you flagged as having (or being) a CRO. It could really make it difficult for you to get ANYTHING investigated or deleted. You should really hold off on any more disputes until you have them cease their repairing efforts. Either that or let them continue to do their job but don't dispute anything with the CRAs yourself. |

understood, I was going to inform the to cease all work before disputing things on my own. Now is it still say to send the CA the PFD letter or should I wait for that also?

You should be fine dealing with CAs and OCs directly (well, as long as the CRO isn't corresponding with them)........just stay away from the CRAs for now. |

I do not want to "burn" out my Q&A session .....Just wanted to confirm that when I sent out the RE for PFD, what method of payment is suggested? (Cashiers Check or Check). I just want to tbe able to receive my funds back if they are returned. Thanks Again and I will not bother you again today! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

LOL........that's ok. You know.....on a PFD, I've only done personal checks. If you are worried about them having access to your bank acct (totally understandable) then I believe you can get your money back on either MO or cashier's check. Call the business where you plan on purchasing them and ask them to make sure though. Your bank may be the best place to get them (always make sure they are traceable and that you can check to see if it was cashed or not). |

Hello again, I am in the process of sending out a judgment letter for a previous creditor (Strawbridges & Clothier) who has been out of business for over 7 years. My credit report show that the TL is set to come of in Jan 2010 and verified in Nov 2005. I reside in PA which I beleive the SOL is 4 years, so is it wise to send the letter disputing the judgment or what avenue should I take? Thanks |
