Default Collection account on My credit report

Over the past two years I have been working on my credit report and have had some excellent results increasing my score dramatically. I am having an issue with one account on my credit report. It is from a collection agency for an old medical bill. I made the mistake of paying the account a few years back, but at the time did not know about PAY TO DELETE letters. This account is showing on my report as paid but still shows up as a collection agency. I have tried several different times disputing the account with all 3 of the major credit bureaus, but have been unable to successfully remove this account from my report. I am looking for any advice that would help me to remove a collection account from my report that was actually already paid. Sample letters or anything of that nature. Thank you

If it's already paid......it might be tough but not impossible.

I know you've tried disputing........but if you can, post how they are reporting.......as exactly as possible without listing your personal info.
We can look for violations or errors.

If they are reporting correctly, there still may be something else you can do, but it takes persistence. lol
You can call the CA.......don't be rude (that's what they are used to). You can still be annoying though. Enough to make them want to get rid of you. You've already paid.......so you are wasting their time. I knew a guy that called the CA EVERY day. Even got the guys name and just kept requesting him. Was always polite but basically asked him why it was still on his report.......he just didn't understand (yes, play dumb) why it was still on his report when they promised him it would get removed as soon as he paid (they never really promised anything). He would keep this guy on the phone for a long time........wasting his time and getting on his nerves. He also sent letters. Eventually, they got tired of him and finally deleted it just to get him to shut up.

I did something very similar to this with a PFD. The company supposedly couldn't find my letter......but still cashed my check with the restrictive endorsement but wouldn't delete it. I bothered them for weeks. Even got the reps email and just stayed on it. Calling and emailing.......then finally threatening legal action. They finally gave up and deleted it.

Persistence can go a long way.

p.s......if that's your email, you may want to see if chane will change your screen name for you.

You just don't want to get a bunch of spam.

Hi Trish
Thank you for the advice and I do think it is good advice it just is not something I would have time for right now in my life. I was hoping to find something more towards a legal remedy or legal letter that I could work with.
I do wish i had the time to follow your advie especially whee I do consider myself to be a quite annoying person.
Thank you

Hmmmm.........not sure then. It appears to be reporting correctly (assuming the dates are correct).......darnit.

Honestly I'm not really sure there's anything else you can do.
You can at the very least give the CA a call.......you never know, you may get lucky with the first guy. Just tell them you were told it would be removed and you just noticed it was still on there.

Other than that.......just keep disputing. Be sure to dispute for a different reason each time, or you might get flagged as "frivolous".

Sorry I couldn't be much more help.
