Does anyone know how to go about suing a creditor? Do you have to go to their state to sue them?

| No you can sue in your town.I would opt for federal court,go to your states web site and look up civil procedure on how to file and everything else you need to do.It can be time consuming.

I just want to say one thing.........and that is be careful. Make sure you have a valid reason and you know what you're doing. You have to do ALOT of homework before taking someone to court........trust me on this one. A lawsuit is not something to be taken lightly.... If you are unsure of ANYTHING......procedures, if you have a solid case, etc........I strongly suggest you check with a local atty or call your state bar association. Just my .02 |

Hi Thanks Trish! I have been thinking about this alot and I was thinking about getting a lawyer. I found a lawyer that specifically deals with consumer law/credit issues. I just have to find out if what they want to charge is worth me going to court. thanks Thrish
