I sent a letter to Countrywide Mortgage instructing them to stop calling me for the mortgage I am in default on. I sent the letter certified mail, which the post office shows them as receiving 2 weeks ago. Well they keep calling me daily, twice a day. I sent an email to their customer service. They said that even though I asked them to stop calling, they will still call me "for my convenience" and that they can't take my phone # out of their collection dept computers. Isn't this a violation of Fed law? |

See if taping phone calls is allowed in your state. You can do that or if you have caller ID, take a picture of the phone. Make sure and have a copy of the letter you sent along with the return receipt (or at least the printout from the USPS tracking). Did you put the certified # in the letter you sent? Don't send them any more emails or call them. |
