I paid the OC the amount that was due imeediatley after getting letter from CA. CA then put the account on my credit report for 49 dollar fee they never billed me for. The line on my credit report says that the amount total was 190. I paid 190 to the oc. Then it says i still owe 49 (there fee). can i still use hippa this should never have even been on my credit i paid it immediatley and asked the OC would this go on my credit rpeort they said since i paid no. But now it is dropping my score by 70 points. I dont know what to do i cant pay the CA then use HIPPA, but can i use hippa if they say i owe a 49 dollar fee. They are using my PHI to mark my credit even when the amount due is not a medical debt it is a CA fee can they do that.

How can I get a medical bill off, It has been paid in the pasted by my medical provider, and then they switch their outpatient procures and then it wasn't cover under my provider. I didn't know that until I got a letter and I had tried to talk to them and now it’s with a CA.

Hi all, So I have learned just enough from the forum to question whether I actually have the stamina needed to complete this journey. Most of my items are medical and because of this I have become interested in the HIPPA process. I have about 13 negative items through TU and thanks to you guys I have been able to have a couple removed!!! As with most of you, we are timing this with the purchase of a home at the beginning of next year. While I intend to do as much of this as I can on my own I know myself and want to find out if there are any credit counseling agencies that specialize in HIPPA. I have called the three suggested by this forum and was surprised that none of them (at least the salesmen who answered the phones) had any clue on what HIPPA was. I know that there was a firm out of Florida that we heard from some time ago, but can't remember who they were. Thanks for everything!!! |

Hey, I realize that it has been quite some time since you posted this. Do you mind answering a question for me? Originally, I had a guy working on my credit and he sent letters to the CA and they responded by sending debt verification in the mail which is a record of my visit. I plan to pay the original creditor ASAP but want to use the HIPAA process since it is my best shot at getting the items removed. Do I need to send another DV letter to the collection agency with the purple writing again or can i use the information the CA has already provided? Should I proceed with paying the OC now then filing a HIPAA complaint or start the process over again. The letter from "whychat" seems a little confrontational...do I have to word it exactly like that? Wouldn't a letter like that alert the CA that I am planning to use my rights under HIPAA? Thanks for your information. MzD |
